Missour issues guidelines for preventing pedestrian deaths

In 2016 alone, the Missouri Department of Transportation received reports of more than 83 pedestrian deaths resulting from being struck by cars from all across the state. That number accounts for nearly 10 percent of the entire body of fatal car crashes statewide.

Ice to blame for critically injuring teen and killing parents

With the winter weather advisory that has overcome a large portion of the Midwest during the last few weeks of late fall 2016; a whole host of car crashes have resulted from negligent drivers driving recklessly despite the hazardous roadways. To that end, on Friday, Dec. 16, 2016, at least 300 car accidents were attributed the Columbia, Missouri, area's icy roadways alone.

One stretch of Missouri highway has endured three fatal motor vehicle accidents in 2016. Since August, four people have died in three accidents on Highway 124, according to Missouri Highway Patrol crash reports.

6-year-old girl struck by semi in front of Macon school

A 6-year-old girl was struck by a semi Monday evening at 5:19 p.m. local time right in front of Macon Middle School on US 63, at the intersection of Missouri and Elm Streets, authorities say. The pedestrian accident happened as the school's Santa's Workshop program was concluding on the school's campus. The victim's older sister had just successfully crossed the street in advance of her younger sister when the accident occurred. Two other sisters were standing nearby and watched as the victim attempted to make it from one side of the street to the other.
