Our Personal Injury team has been busy and is kicking the month off in high gear. Our well-versed personal injury team, Ron Netemeyer and Jill Harper, filed suit for clients that were being treated unfairly by the insurance company.

This case sprang from an automobile accident in Boone County, Missouri. Our clients, the Plaintiffs, were injured in an accident that was not their fault. The male victim received multiple injuries from the accident, including fractures to his tibia/fibula & ankle, along with lacerations to his head, throat & elbow; the female victim also received multiple injuries from the accident, including fractures to her right arm, leg, ankle, and her foot, and abrasions to her head.

The victims were involved in an automobile accident on August 13, 2014. Our female client was driving her 2000 Plymouth Neon northbound on Brown Station Road in Columbia, Boone County, Missouri and our male client was the passenger. The Defendant was driving a 2009 Ford F-150 XLT southbound on Brown Station Road. The Defendant attempted to make a left turn from the southbound lane, crossing the center line. Our female Plaintiff swerved in an attempt to avoid the impending collision at the same time the Defendant was re-correcting his vehicle and the Neon and the F-150 collided. As a result of this accident the female driver and male passenger of the Neon suffered the above-noted injuries.

The male victim had $93,497.27 in medical bills and the female had $185,718.08 in medical bills.

Prior to the involvement of Ron Netemeyer and Jill Harper, our top personal injury attorneys, on the Plaintiffs’ behalf, the Defendant’s insurance company was claiming that our female Plaintiff was at fault, or at the very least, was comparatively negligent. Once retained, Mr. Netemeyer and Ms. Harper immediately filed a lawsuit against the Defendant’s insurance company. Shortly thereafter, it was agreed that our clients, the Plaintiffs, had no negligence in this accident.

Once the Plaintiffs were finished with their medical treatment, demand letters were sent to opposing counsel. After negotiations, we obtained a settlement in this case in the amount of $1,125,000.00, without ever having to go to trial. The female Plaintiff was awarded $725,000 and the male Plaintiff was awarded $400,000.
