Missouri drivers should keep in mind that they owe a duty of reasonable care to other drivers and pedestrians each time that they get behind the wheel of a vehicle. Sometimes, when drivers fail in that duty of care, the result can be a damaging car accident. A recent car accident left two people injured, one of them seriously.

This particular motor vehicle accident took place where Missouri 47 meets Route EE. A 67-year-old man driving a Buick failed to obey a stop sign and pulled out into the path of another vehicle. The second vehicle smashed into the driver side of the Buick before rolling over several times.

Once that vehicle came to a stop, it was laying off of the actual roadway. Emergency personnel transported the Buick’s driver via air to an area hospital for treatment of his injuries. At last report, the man remained in serious condition. The driver of the second vehicle was also transported for medical treatment, although his wounds were listed as being moderate in nature.

Initial reports do not indicate what factors Missouri authorities may believe played a role in this car accident. What does seem clear is that two people have been seriously injured as a result. In some situations like this, one or more accident victim discovers that they may have the right to file a personal injury lawsuit against a potentially negligent driver. This course of action can sometimes result in an accident victim receiving financial restitution for the damages that they have suffered in a car crash.
