On August 1, 2015, the 14 th annual Deon Starman Memorial Golf Tournament was held at the Columbia Country Club. Attorneys at the Columbia law firm Harper, Evans, Hilbrenner & Netemeyer were proud sponsors of the overall event as well as the team, comprised of Deb Richardson and Teresa Wheeler, that claimed second place in the tournament’s women’s division.
To honor the memory and carry on the mission of his late wife, Dave Starman organizes the annual fundraising event to raise money for breast cancer research. As of 2014, generous sponsors and participants in the event had raised $190,000 to benefit research and patient-care initiatives at the Ellis Fischel Cancer Center.
